Draycott, Douglas Charles Thomas – Finally reunited with the love of his life for 66 years, on the morning of Sunday August 25,2024 in his 94th year. Son of the late Arthur and Elsie Draycott (nee.Parsons) and brother to the late Bruce, Donald and Kenneth Draycott. Beloved husband of the late Elspeth Draycott (2021). Much loved father of the late Pamela Draycott (2007). Best Grand-Dad to Meaghan Spong (nee: Kelley) (Nicholas) and the late Liam Kelley (2004). Proud Great Grand-Dad to Madelyn and Elsie Spong. He will also be sadly missed by many other extended family members and close family friends. Douglas was born on December 15,1930 (Montreal, Quebec) and was a loyal Manager and Customs Broker with Livingston International for over 30 years, retiring in the early 90's. However during his retirement the need to keep busy and a strong work ethic and devotion of faith saw him care-taking of St. James the Apostle Church (Brampton, Ontario) and showing off his overwhelming talent for carving and woodworking, while always ensuring on taking time with family and loved ones to share a story and a laugh or two along the way. Douglas will be lovingly remembered through stories and memories shared between family and friends. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Staff and Nursing Department of Queensview Retirement Community for their kind attention shown to Doug over the years and listening to his stories, which brought him great delight. As Per Douglas' wishes, cremation has taken place and private interment with family will follow. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Ave., Brantford, 519-752-4331. A tree will be planted in memory of Douglas in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest
