Condolences
On behalf of my dear sister Maureen, who passed away in September, I know she would like me to say how much she appreciated the invaluable help Jack (and Marnie) gave her with compiling Doug's family tree.
Sometimes my visits to Barbados coincided with their visits, so I shared the wonderful results and indeed happy and interesting times together. I have no doubts Jack will be very sady missed but I and so many other family members will think of him whenever we look at our family trees.
My heartfelt sympathy on the passing of "uncle" Jack. He was a wonderful person and I have many fond childhood memories of when our families spent time together.
We were sorry to hear of Jack’s passing. He was our neighbour on Downing St for many years and he shared his knowledge of gardening with us. We had many good talks about growing grapes or pruning pear trees. He often shared his memories of Brantford, Paris and Fishers Glen. He also talked about walking as keeping you healthy and fit. He certainly proved it by making it to 96. He was a great neighbour we missed when he and Marnie moved. Our condolences to the family on the loss of such a wonderful man.

Marnie, so sorry for your loss. I remember good times at your place when Uncle George came home. My thoughts are with you and your family
I first met amazing Jack when answering a newspaper ad for a boarder. Initially I met with Jack’s mother -in-law who I hoped to live with for a while after getting a job in a new city. Unknown to me at the time Jack was doing an assessment of this potential boarder (a stranger) while we were at the table at Melrose Ave.
I passed the evaluation and myself, later my spouse and then my children have treasured Jack and his family’s friendship for the past 5 decades plus.
Rest in peace kind gentle man.
