Obituary of Donald James Wolan

Wolan, Donald James - November 9th, 1938 to May 16, 2023 Tuesday May 16, 2023 at Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton, Donald Wolan in his 85th year, peacefully passed away to reunite with the love of his life. He will be lovingly missed by his children Donald Jr. and his wife Lou Anne of Brantford, Gregory and his wife Sonya of Edmonton, Chere McTavish and her husband Ian (Emmer) of Glanbrook. His Grandchildren Brent (Ellie and Tuka), Lisa (Gordon) MacNeill, Vanessa (Alain), Brian (Diane) Wolan, Matthew and Jennifer (Kish) Wolan will always cherish the memories that he provided. He got to meet most of his Great grand children Braydon, Athena, Bryce, Bella, Ethan, Victoria, Lincoln, Benjamin. He is survived by his sister Carol and her husband Larry Wilson. Preceded by the love of his life Beatrice (nee Gareau), his parents John and Evelyn (nee Mastelar) and his sister Joan. Great friend and neighbour to Al and Kim Melloh and their children who were always there. The many nieces and nephews will always remember the summer visits to the Wolan household. Don was born in Beausejour Manitoba on November 9th, 1938. He moved to Brantford at an early age and met his wife Beatrice Gareau. They married in 1958 and he provided the best care when she became ill. He built his wife a home that he resided in until his death. Don was a very proud man and would help out anyone that needed it. Donald touched many lives and will be sorely missed by all. We would like to thank the staff at the Juravinski Hospital, especially Dr. Amna Ahmed, for all their caring and compassion. Arrangements are entrusted to the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Avenue, 519-752-4331. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Don's life will be held on Sunday, June 18 from 2-4 p.m. at the Dunsdon Legion - 9 Tollgate Rd. Brantford ON.
