Q: How did you meet Arie?
A: Arie,
The fond memories from my teenage years when I lived on Lorne Cres, are endless. The laughing, the teasing, the compromising, all kept the house alive.
I acquired my love of camping from you after our first camping trip at Brant Park with the Aunts, Uncles and cousins. You always included me in your family functions saying that I was “one of you” and often calling me your adopted daughter.
I once shaved my head into a mohawk, and dyed my hair black and as the side of my head started to grow hair, I bleached it and you would say that I look like a skunk. I knew exactly what you were going to say to me when you’d see me every day and you teased me for weeks until my hair grew out. You were 100% right about my skunk-like resemblance though! HAHA!
You are by far the greatest, influential male role model and I know this goes w/o saying, that every foster child that came into your home, felt the same: loved, supported, accepted, safe, and home. I feel privileged to have you and Tini in my life and thank you for being the epitome of protector, compassion, and sacrifice. I love you.
