Obituary of Amanda Holland/Breau

Please share a memory of Amanda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Holland/Breau, Amanda Lynn - Born: December 27, 1993 - Passed: October 15, 2019 It is with great sadness that the world has lost a dearly loved special little girl, our Juicy Fruit, our Pooh, our little chicken, our everything. In her short 25 years, Amanda has been able to touch and inspire so many lives. Amanda is the daughter of Ken and Tammy Breau of Brantford. She is also the sister of Rachel Holland, Brittany Holland, Tyler Holland, Taylor Breau and Avery Breau, and the aunt to Isabelle Lavergne. Amanda was also loved by a large extended family. Amanda will be missed by her biological father Dan Holland and many grandparents; Dianne and Randy Lapierre, Carol and Bill Breau, Joyce (Deceased) and George (Deceased) Holland, and Peter (Deceased) and Carol-Anne Sherratt. Since Amanda was 6 months old, she would spend many weekends with her second parents (Alternate Care) Linda and Gord (Deceased) Mudie at the baseball diamond and church. It is truly amazing how a little girl who could not speak has touched so many lives with her smile that was as bright as the light she is now following to Heaven. Amanda was born with many disabilities that caused her to live in a world that we could only wish to understand. Many times, we would come down in the middle of the night to see what all the noise was about only to find Amanda laughing and looking at nothing in particular; We would often say that she was playing with Angels. Rather than placing Amanda in a bedroom, we choose to renovate the front of our home to have Amanda in the main living space so that she would always have family and friends around her in the heart of our home. Amanda was always happiest when her siblings or family pets were playing, arguing, or just being a family in the kitchen next to her. The loud noise seemed to let her know that she was truly a part of a family that would do anything for her. We would like to thank an amazing team of nurses who spent many hours looking after Amanda and truly became part of the family. We would also like to thank Dr. Downey (BGH), Dr. McNeil and Nurse Shelley from the Stedman Hospice, Brantford General ICU Team and the McMaster Children’s Hospital (Pediatric Critical Care Unit) who cared for Amanda through many difficult times. The nurses and doctors that work at McMaster and the Brantford General are truly unique people that have the special gift of caring for both the patients and their families at the same time. Friends will be received at the BECKETT-GLAVES FAMILY FUNERAL CENTRE, 88 Brant Avenue on Thursday from 7-9 pm, Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and Saturday from 10-11 am. A Celebration of Amanda's life will take place in the Chapel on Saturday at 11 am. Cremation will follow. Donations, condolences and a live funeral webcast are available online at www.beckettglaves.com. A tree will be planted in memory of Amanda Lynn Holland/Breau in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest. We would request that donations be made to the Brant Community Healthcare System Foundation - Critical Care Unit (ICU). 519-751-5510 foundation@bchsys.org www.bchsysfoundation.org
