Condolences
I’m so sorry. I just saw this. Olive was my mother’s first cousin- Laurel Laughlin Cope. I have wonderful memories of her as well as Aunt Clara and Uncle Herald. Please know my thoughts are with you. She was a very feisty lady!
My sympathies go out to friends and family. I have many memories of Miss Plumstead as all the student nurses called her. She was greatly respected by all and admired for what an absolute, perfect nurse should look and act like. Those who were her patients knew her as tender and compassionate and always in control of the situation. I also knew her outside of the hospital setting as I provided foot care for her for a few years. She was a great lady and will never be forgotten.
It was a pleasure to have known my"adopted" Aunt Olive she was such a special lady always had a smile and warm greeting when I came over from England to visit and was always ready to take myself ,Karen and Susan out she just enjoyed herself she sent cards and letters which were a treat to read she'll be remember with fondness and love XX
One if my fondest memories was when Aunt Olive came to visit us in Berkley, Michigan which is where my family lived. I proudly asked her if she would talk in front of my elementary class about nursing. She of course said “Yes”. I don’t know who was happier, me for her accepting or Aunt Olive for me asking her. All I know is how very proud and happy she made me feel not only that day but anytime I was with her. I will miss always getting a Birthday card from her and that is for 67 years without fail! Rest In Peace Aunt Olive you are loved and will be missed by so many. ❤️
