It is with sadness that we say goodbye to the matriarch of the Cockshutt-Kneale family. Janice was a lady of grace and charm, always ready to welcome family, friends and neighbours into her home. She loved to entertain in style, and was affectionately known as the Queen of Egerton Street.
Always in our hearts

To Margaret Ann and family:
I saw the notice in the Globe and wanted to extend my sincere condolences to you and your families. Our parents were life long friends and although they did not see each other in later years, your parents were always held in the highest esteem. According to my mother, their friendship started when she met your mother in the BGH after delivering us! My mother died in 2007 and my father in 2014. May we be so fortunate as to live such long and productive lives as our parents. Warm wishes in this time of loss.
Margaret Ann and John:
I feel like it's "the end of an era". Your mother was always very special to me. I spent many happy times at your home and at the Port Ryerse cottage through the years.
Mrs. Kneale took great pleasure in sharing the family news with me and expressed her pride in both your families.
I will miss her as I know you will.
With love,
Jane Devereux McIntyre
Bill and I were so sorry to hear of you Mom’s death. She was a lovely, elegant lady.
I so much enjoyed our time as board members at Sheridan Place. We also used to see her regularly at the golf club and she was also so interested in us. We are out of town and won’t be able to attend the service.
My condolences to John and family on the passing of your Mom. Jan was a lovely lady and I always enjoyed her visits to my office where I was able to keep abreast of your life.
Unfortunately I am in Florida but will be thinking of you and your family.
Our sincere condolences to John, Margaret and the rest of the family on the passing of your beloved mother..Brian and I had the pleasure of living next door to Mr & Mrs Kneale for over 25 years. Mrs Kneale was always so gracious with her time, on occasion we had tea time and sometimes a glass of sherry. She would share with me some of her memories of the house we currently live in and we would talk about what was going on in the neighbourhood. I will always remember her graciousness, her sense of style and her sincere "thank you" . A truly beautiful lady.. We will miss her, the neighbourhood is not the same without Mr &Mrs kneale.
My sincere condolences to John and the Kneale family. Jan was a gracious person whom I had the privilege to know as a friend. She gave generously of her time and resources for the benefit of many. This should come as no surprise, as it is a Cockshutt family hallmark. Her family and good works will continue as her legacy.
