Obituary of Gordon Allan

ALLAN, Gordon James It is with profound sadness the family announces that Gord (Biggie) passed away on July 2, 2016 after a brief illness at the Brantford General Hospital. Gord is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Shirley (McMullen) and his adored daughter Shelley McInnes (Peter). Gord was the proud and loving grandfather to Connor James Johnstone and Abigail McInnes. Gord turned 79 on June 2nd and took great delight that he shared his birth date with his very special granddaughter Abigail and his son-in-law Peter McInnes. Dearest brother to Valerie Langford of London and Wayne Allan of Paris. Brother-in-law to Beverly McMullen (London) and Raymond McMullen (Woodstock). Caring uncle to Jeff, Andrea, Christine, Natalie, Kevin, Mary Anne, Margaret, Gord, Mike, Shanon and Laura. Predeceased by parents Grace (1980) James (1998) and brother Grant (1979). Gord was proud to have worked for Canadian Union of Public Employees as a national representative in Toronto, Ottawa, Hamilton and London areas for 23 years, retiring in 1997. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at Beckett Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Avenue, Brantford, Ontario on Saturday, July 9, 2016 from 10 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will follow, in the chapel, at 12:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations to the Brantford Food Bank, Nova Vita or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
