Obituary of Rick Wellman

Wellman, Richard "Rick" Passed away at the Niagara Hospice - The Stabler Centre, after a courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, March 3rd 2016 in his 68th year. Beloved husband of Ellen (nee Bohun) for over 45 years. Loving father of Terry (Cathy Rootes), Samantha (Brian Sheehan), John (Tammy), Zabrina (Sue Crete), and Thomas (Patricia). Devoted grandfather of April (Grant) and Amber (Jeff) Rootes, Katrina, Holly, Benjamin, and Jacob Sheehan, Natasha (Lucas) and Nicholas (Mel) Wellman, Andrew, Michael and Johnny, Francesca and Nathan. He is survived by his brother Paul (Lucy Brown) Wellman, and Louanne (Jerry) Madia. Predeceased by his parents Joseph Adelard Wellman (1988) and Hilda Louise Feaver (2001). He will also be fondly remembered by Debbie Wellman, his nieces Andrea (Brian), and Michelle, and nephew Christopher (Jessica), and many other family members and friends. He retired after 25 years at the Peace Bridge, and loved photography (he was an accomplished racing photographer). Cremation has been arranged through the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, Brantford (519) 752-4331. A Private Family Service has been held. Rick's ashes will be interred with his father at Fairview Cemetery in Niagara Falls. Donations to Hospice Niagara - Stabler Centre would be appreciated.
