Obituary of Edward Beare

BEARE, Ted - Unexpectedly at the Brantford General Hospital, on Tuesday, January 11th, 2011 in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Piret for over 40 years. Loving father of Sabrina (Mike) VanLeeuwen, and Keri Williams. Proud grandfather of Brandon Smith, Bailey Smith, Eric VanLeeuwen, and Owen VanLeeuwen. Ted worked for most of his working career at the Brantford Expositor as the Sports Editor, and in his retirement also as a freelance columnist. His columns were well known as "The Beare Facts". Friends will be received at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Ave., on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Private Family Funeral Service will be held. Ted's cousin, the Reverend Kenneth Jackson officiating. Cremation to follow. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery. Donations to the Arnold Anderson Sports Access for Youth Fund, or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Ted in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
