Condolences
So, way back in 1990 I was trying to get a job with Waterloo Regioanl Police Service...and for those who know me, I had a wonderful 14 year career. Was it because of my two references??? The Lawyers??? Of was it because of the lovely and always positive and happy man who was my third reference....Roy.....
I believe it was because of Roy. My goodness...my inspector called him and they spoke for half an hour about li'l' ol' me....What Roy told me later...was that he gave over half of that reference while he was sitting on the John...!!!!!And, if that's not enough....my Inspector was told this by Roy....Roy told him that nature called but he was fine talking from the toilet as long as my Inspector was okay listenin' from that location. I had a lovely policing career for 14 years. Thank you Roy...not just for that, but for you always positive welcome and genuineness that greeted me every time I saw you. If the people of the world had just half of your caring and kind words, I know that the world would be an amazingly kind place. You always made me feel like I was your favourite of David's family...but I am sure each one of them would also write the same thing! You were an amazing man with an amazing wife and family. You and June were role models....I write this with tears streaming down my face....the "if onlies....." But, you have left a Legacy I challenge any family to meet. Your children and grandchildren are kind, caring, generous, fun loving people who will make their poppy and dad...proud...Rest in Peace Roy, the world was a better place with you in it.....
