Obituary of Clara Terryberry

TERRYBERRY, Clara Elizabeth Virtue June 7, 1919 - June 1, 2010 It is with great sadness the family and friends of Clara Terryberry announce her passing on Monday, June 1st, 2010, in her 91st year. She was predeceased by her mother Clara (Virtue), her father Malcolm, and step-mother Hazel (Rutherford). Clara was born on a farm near Burford, Ontario on June 7th, 1919. She attended Hamilton Normal School and was a much beloved teacher with the Brant County Board of Education between the years of 1939 - 1975. Some of her schools included Salem, Woodbury, Airport School, Central, and Belleview. Upon her retirement she travelled extensively and volunteered as an art instructor at the Burtch Institute. Clara was involved with RWTAO, the IODE, and several local churches in Brantford and Paris. She will be remembered by all for her grace, intelligence, good humor and kindness. Friends will be received at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Avenue, on Sunday, June 6, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Monday, June 7th, at 11:00 a.m. Donations in lieu of flowers to the World Wildlife Foundation, the Brant S.P.C.A. or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. A Tree will be planted in memory of Clara in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
