Is this Miss Terryberry from Hobbyhorse Nursery school in flemington NJ
Grade 3 was a long time ago now (1968-9, I think), but I still remember Miss Terryberry. She was kind and compassionate, yet firm when necessary. She made learning fun and encouraged us to be the best we could be. Though I left Brantford years ago, Miss Terryberry continued to ask about me when she saw my mother around town. I am glad she had such a long and fulfilling life. God bless. Linda (Oliver) Herlihey
Miss Terryberry was my favorite teacher of all that I had. I can still remember the kilt that she would wear & her thistle pin. Every once in awhile when it was very hot outside she or Miss Wallington the grade 7 teacher across the hall would buy us kids a pop sickle to cool off. She was my grade 3 teacher for two years (55 & 56) at Central Public School. I was failed my first year because I was in the hospital for about a month & got too far behind in my studies. While I was in the hospital she sent me a book of prayers that she signed & wished me to get well soon. I held on to that book until a few years ago when it got lost in one of my moves. I often think about her & the days back when. I remember one of my classmates asked her about her arm & she told us that she broke it when she was a little girl & the doctors didn't set it right. She was a most wonderful teacher.
My deepest sympathy to all of Miss Terryberry's family & friends. I know she will be dearly missed.
