Condolences
Dear Alan, Ken, Rick, Kate, Pat & Families It was with great sorrow that I learned of your dad's passing. He will be greatly missed by so many. John & your dad go way back, we had so many good times & a lot of laughs. Your mom & I worked the tournaments together....so much fun. John took great pride, once we had our own arena, in being known as the "best & cleanest", thanks to your dad. (who by the way, was under the bleachers picking up as fast as garbage was being dropped) He took so much pride and it showed. Great memories. Carol & the late John Phillipchuk
We were very sorry to hear of uncle Earls illness and passing. We have many great memories from the many visits, at his home and at ours. I am truly sorry we could not make it down for his funeral, but he is in our hearts and will be forever remembered. Jamie and I had quite a long talk with Dad at the hospital, and Dad,although very upset, also has many, many memories of Earl and your family. Thinking of you all, Jamie,Denise, and Dad(Fred)
Dear Gaukel Family, We were surprised and saddened to learn of Earl's passing and regret that we did not find out in time to attend the service. He was a wonderful guy who sure put up with a lot from us little brats running around the arena when we were kids. St. George has lost another pillar. Our sympathies, John Babette and Alex Howell
An avid volunteer, a terrific father and grandfather, and a beautiful friend; I was deeply saddened to hear of Uncle Earl's passing. I do not think that there is a soul in St. George that did not know the name Earl Gaukel, and that is a testament to the man he was. Our hearts will cherish his spirit always. My love goes out to his family and friends.
With our thoughts & prayers, our sincere condolences to Earl's family - a loving man who thought more about "we" than "me" - will cherish our memories of him. Chris & Ruth Cattle & children
The twinkle in his eye and the smile on his face will remain in my heart forever, I will miss you my Uncle Earl.......
I am so sorry to hear of Uncle Earl's passing, and wish I could be up there with you. He was such a special person and did so much for the community I had the fortunate experience of spending my last residence in Canada, in St. George and I loved that town. I was so proud to be a Gaukel due to the respect Uncle Earl had earned in the community. I remember as a kid going roller skating at the arena and being apart of the South Dumphries Figure Skating and always getting to see Uncle Earl. I know it has been awhile since I last got to see him but Uncle Earl as also all my family in Canada are always in my heart. Rest in Peace. Love Paula, Chris, Brooke and Brayden.
So sad to hear of Uncle Earl's passing. He was a great guy...so many wonderful and fun memories over the years! We are so happy he made the trip to Calgary in 2010 for Fred's birthday...it was so special for Fred to have him here and we are happy our "kids" had a chance to get to know Uncle Earl. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all and we will keep Earl in our hearts forever. and remember a "life well lived" Brad, Val and family. xo
