Obituary of James Conlin

CONLIN, James (Irish or Jim) - On March 8, 2013 in his 60th year, our repairman packed up his toolbox and picked up his fishing pole. May he rest peacefully in the arms of God. James and wife Carol Ann Conlin (Bacon) were married 42years. Cherished father of Jeannette Laird (Rob), Sherry Conlin (Jason Greer) and Holly Conlin. Proud Papa of Alicia, Dylan and Hali Laird, Angel and Marrissa Levesque, Dakota and Brittany Miller. Proud step Papa of Olivia and Russell Greer and Great Papa of Quentin Laird. Loving Son of Margaret and the late John Conlin. Brother of Jeanette Thorne (Terry). James will be missed by Auntie Jeanette Canham, cousin Paul Lieshman and many brothers and sisters in-law, nieces, and nephews. James was past President and later secretary of the United Lime & Gypsum Workers (Loc Pipe) working with Bob White (and C.A.W.) to improve the lives of fellow employees. James was employed by Crowe Foundry, Hespeler for 23 years, as a First Aid Officer and a member of the First Responders Safety Team. James will be remembered in love for his strength, courage, honesty, sense of humor, wit and charm. Friends will be received at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Ave., Brantford on Sunday, March 10, 2013 from 2 to 4 p.m. and on Monday, March11, 2013 from 10-11 a.m. A Funeral Service will follow in the Chapel on Monday at 11:00 a.m. Special thanks to the Dr. Wasserman and team at MacMaster Hospital and Nurse Kate S., PSW Linda and the team at Aberdeen Nurses. Donations to the Lupus Foundation, the Scleroderma Foundation or the Ontario Professional Fire Fighters Association would be appreciated. A Tree will be planted in memory of James in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
