Obituary of Gulbe Hofstee

Hofstee, Gurby - After having traveled to attend the funeral of his brother, Gurby passed away in Sneek, The Netherlands, on December 2nd, 2012 in his 83rd year, He worked for the correctional services for over 30 years, and is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Rinske Miedema, and his loving daughters Barbara (T.C.) and Tina (Steve). "Pake" to Wade, Spencer, Connor, and Rebekah. Also survived by his sister-in-law Gepke, of Australia, step-sister Annie, of Holland, step-brother Chris (Sophie), of B.C. "Popsie" to Ravi, and Newel DeSouza, Madissen and Brittany Levesque, Sarah, Clifford, and Shanique Campbell. Predeceased by his parents, one grandson Lucas, one sister, two brothers, one step-sister and two step-brothers. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the Salvation Army Wyndfield Community Church, 33 Diana Ave, Brantford on Friday from 1 - 2 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at the Church on Friday at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Brantford Salvation Army would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Gurby in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
