Obituary of Ida McIntyre

McINTYRE, IDA MAY (nee Sloat) - Peacefully at the Brantford General Hospital Palliative Care Unit on Tuesday, Oct 30, 2012 in her 88th year. Beloved wife of the late John William (Bill) McIntyre (1998). Loving mother of Dent McIntyre and his wife Arlene. Dear Grandmother of Scott (Anee), Dennis (Michele) and Kevin (Trish) McIntyre. Cherished great-grandmother of Tristan, Vaughn, Sarah, Aisha, Sofiya, Kyra, Leila, Jayden, Danial, Iris, and Sabrina. Predeceased by sisters Marion Meade (Robert) and Elizabeth 'Betty' Bloomfield. Also survived by brother-in-law Jake Bloomfield and special niece Patti Cabral, as well as many nieces, nephews and, grand-nieces and nephews. Special long time friend of Laurene and Marjo. Ida worked for 20 years at the Brant Sanatorium (Now Brantwood) and made many cherished friendships with her workmates there. Friends will be received at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Ave. on Sunday Nov. 4, 2012 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Celebration of Ida's life will be held in the Chapel on Monday Nov. 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m.. Interment Mt. Pleasant Pioneer Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the SPCA or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Ida in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
