Hamilton, Georgina "Joan" Sarah Safe in the Arms of Jesus The Family of "Mirt", Georgina Joan Sarah nee: Clarke announce her passing into "Glory" at the age of 96 on Wednesday, October 10, 2012. Joan was born September 21, 1916 in "Cuthorne Cottage", Lamberhurst, Tonbridge R.D. Great Britain. She is predeceased by her parents William Dennis and Maud Clarke, sisters Dorothy Clarke and Audrey (Noakes) Dutka, the late Joseph Morris Hamilton (1993) and the late Gordon Edward Knight (1981). Mum of Mildred (Ronald) Robertson and Gordon (Patricia) Knight. Nana of Greg Robertson, Debbie Jarvis, Kathy Mark, Raymond Knight, Richard Knight and Craig Clark. "Nana Joan" to 13 great-grandchildren. Joan was a faithful Sunday School Teacher, member of Songsters and League of Mercy in the Brantford Salvation Army. Joan, along with her late husband Gordon Knight operated the Family Food Store in Eagle Place for many years. For the last 16 1/2 years, Joan has called Riverview Terrace her home. The family, with grateful hearts, extend a thank you to the staff as they cared for Joan and treated her as one of their family. Bless each one of you. A Memorial Service will take place at the BECKETT-GLAVES FAMILY FUNERAL CENTRE, 88 Brant Avenue on Monday, October 15 at 1:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place. Donations to the Salvation Army would be appreciated. A Tree will be planted in memory of Joan in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
