Condolences
I dealt with Wayne for many years at Union Gas. Whenever there was an metering issue, Wayne was very prompt and professional in his approach to troubleshooting the problem. I could just tell that he hated leaving a site without fixing whatever was wrong. He was extemely diligent and very easy to deal with. He will be missed. Dan Laforet.
Linda. Our most sincere condolence on the passing of your loved husband Wayne. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
Our thoughts are with you and your family. Cherish all the memories and laughter shared over the years.
I had the pleasure of knowing Wayne for several years, while working in the same U.G. office area in Brantford, and sharing the same Boss. Another unforgettable man, Bill Pluim. (Pictured here)
Occasionally when our work allowed it, I would join Wayne and several of his fellow Technicians to go to a local Tim Hortons before heading out our separate ways.
I shall never forget one morning, when sitting back enjoying our morning coffee and dougnuts, when Wayne's pager starting beeping. He quickly checked it, and said "Oh it's just Bill, no problem we'll be back in 10 mins." Hardly a minute had passed, and the pager for another Technician went off, with the same response! All of our pager's eventually went off one by one..... probably a total of five.
We decided maybe we better go, and were just finishing our coffees, when a young lady behind the counter called out..... "Is there anybody from Union Gas here? because there is a Bill Pluim on our phone who would like to speak you one of you!"
There was a deadly hush from our table, while the rest of the patron's just roared with laughter! I forget who answered the phone and took the heat on that one.
We later found out that Bill had several of the area Tim Horton phone numbers. He said he needed then to ensure the safety of our Gas Lines!
True story.... Wayne was a great Guy, and I will always remember his laugh and smile. He certainly will be missed.
