Day, Harold William Jr 'Butch'. Passed away peacefully at the Brantford General Hospital on Monday, January 13th, 2025, at 81 years of age. Reunited with his loving wife Margaret “Gaye” (nee Brett). Loving father of Trini (Harris), Tracey (Ryan). Proud grandfather of William, Patrick and Rowan. Fondly remembered by his best friend and partner Elinor Kesteloot. Butch is survived by his sister Lorraine and predeceased by parents Harold and Mildred. He will be missed by his extended stepchildren Lorraine Little (Jay) and Mike Kesteloot (Lynn) and step grandchildren Shane, Kyle and Tessa.
Butch spent nearly 60 years working as an accomplished welder throughout the Brant County area. In addition, he devoted over 40 years to working with Thrill Show Productions who specialized in bringing demolition derby’s and stunt shows to towns across Ontario. Butch was a lifelong NASCAR lover and travelled to several live events throughout the United States. An avid car enthusiast, he enjoyed his classic cars and spending his summer weekends at classic car shows. In his retirement, he enjoyed time on the golf course working on his handicap. Most of all he enjoyed spending time and travelling to warm, sunny destinations with his partner Elinor and with his children and their families.
A Celebration of Harold's Life will take place on Saturday, January 18th, 2025 from 1-4 pm at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Ave., Brantford, 519-752-4331. If desired, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
A tree will be planted in memory of Harold in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest
