BABINETZ, WILLIAM (Bill)
August 25, 1942 - December 13, 2024
We are heartbroken and saddened to announce the sudden passing of Bill after an enjoyable evening of watching the Brantford Bulldogs with his son-in-law Dave. Bill is survived by his wife of 59 years, Donna, his daughter Kim, son-in-law Dave, his cherished granddaughters, Kaitlyn (Ryan) and Rachel (James), and his special furry friend, Christie. He also leaves behind his daughter Tammy and son Roger. He will be greatly missed by many other family members and a great group of friends, too many to list. Bill was a hardworking man, who had a successful career of over 40 years at Sternsons as a plant manager. He also worked tirelessly to assist his wife with her successful janitorial business. Although he was proud of the life that he built, he was more proud of his family and was a very proud papa. Whether he was babysitting, taking them to his trailer, carpooling, slipping them cash, watching them swim, play soccer, or baseball he would do anything for his girls. Bill lived a very active life. He had a love of sports that goes back to his youth, when he played baseball, hockey, darts and pool. He was known as a bit of a ruthless euchre player, and was still active in the Friendship Bowling League. He loved to go to his trailer in Port Rowan every summer and he was determined to keep driving his beloved F150. Bill was an avid reader, and loved to discuss current events that were happening in the world. He could still be seen doing his own yard work, putting up his Christmas lights and working outside whenever he had a chance. Bill was known for his great sense of humour and for the occasional colourful joke. You knew when Bill was nearby, as he was often whistling a tune. He was a great husband, father, papa, friend, brother-in-law, uncle , a great neighbor and he will truly be missed by all those that knew him. He would help anyone who needed a hand. Words do not express enough the type of person Bill was to the people who knew and loved him. Over the past few years he has had some challenges but he was determined to overcome them and to push forward with much optimism. Bill had a great love for animals, and therefore in lieu of flowers, he would have loved donations to be made to the Brant County SPCA. Friends and family will be welcomed at a Celebration of Life on Saturday, December 21, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Beckett Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Avenue, Brantford, Ontario. Cremation has taken place.
A tree will be planted in memory of Bill in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
