Obituary of Susan Isabelle Grigsby

Susan Grigsby (nee Rimes) Susan Grigsby passed away peacefully at Brantford General Hospital on November 24, 2024 in her 78th year, after a brave fight with cancer. Loved wife of the late Edward "Red" Grigsby, beloved mother of Rhonda McDonald (Marvin), Sean (Sandi), Ian (Allison), and Andrew (Lisa). Proud Grandmother of Joshua McDonald (Kris), Zachary, Jacob (Samantha) McDonald, Jude, Samantha, Chelsea, Ashley, Owen, and Scott. Great Grandmother of Isaiah, Keaton, Ellie, Hudson, Adalyn, Aubree, and Dawson. Daughter of the late Steward Rimes and the late Isabelle Rimes (Bowles), and sister to the late John Rimes (Greta), and the late Dorothy "Dot" Hall. Susan and Red met in St Jean's, Quebec while she was employed as a book keeper for Singer Sewing Machines and Red served in the Armed Forces. Susan held various jobs through the years while raising four children, including her last employment as a housekeeper in a retirement facility where she would impact the residents with various experiences like making apple crisp with them every year. Susan's kindness and generosity impacted many of the residents and coworkers throughout her career. Susan's hobbies included reading, diamond paintings, baking, and spending time with her Great Grandchildren. Susan will be missed by many. Donations in Memory of Susan can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Ave., Brantford, 519-752-4331. A tree has been planted in memory of Susan in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
