April 27, 1927-June 13, 2024
Passed away peacefully at The John Noble Home on Thursday June 13, 2024 in his 98th year. Beloved husband of 77 years to Mary Irene (Ford). Loving father of Nancy Voogd (Rick Leach), Marilyn Kaylor, Linda Davis (Ted Cowan), Brian Wintonic (Andra) and Cathy Chambers (Mark). Cherished grandfather to 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents Harry and Mary (Murphy) Wintonic, sister Shirley Sowers, Grandson Brent Hewings and Son-in-laws John Roloson and Albert Voogd.
Don was a Millwright Mechanic and worked at The Canada Glue Works, Niemeyer Tobacco, Texpac and Gates Rubber. Don enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, bowling, square dancing, round dancing, camping and the seniors club and band.
There will be a celebration of life for the family at a later date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Ave., Brantford, 519-752-4331.
If desired, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
A tree will be planted in memory of Don in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
