Bruce Cooper was our very good friend of many years. Before he was married to Mary Lois, while members of Wellington Street, United Church we attended the Young Adult Group which met regularly. I don't recall him being in the choir. He lived not far from where my husband Lawrence and I lived and he would come often to visit. After his meeting with Mary Lois while at University he told us about this very special young lady. Mary Lois. after some months he told us that he had asked her to marry him and so it happened in June of 1967 I'm not sure of the date and he asked Lawrence to be in his wedding party. And so it happened. Over the years we got together just to talk and reminisce about what had happened since the last meeting. After passing years, Bruce and Mary Lois went on teaching exchanges and we were always eager to hear about their adventures. After Bruce's retirement our meetings were not quite as often because they were busy looking after aging relatives. Much later, our eldest daughter, Karen moved into an apartment close to where they lived and I felt very good about their closeness to her. . . . . and then there were those meetings for lunch at the Bell Homestead when they were coming to Brantford to visit relatives.. It was a great journey for us to have been such good friends with Bruce and Mary Lois for so many years
Rest in Peace Bruce. You are in good hands once again.
