Condolences
Norah and family: We are very saddened to hear of Norm's passing. We have fond memories of enjoying a meal or a cocktail with you and Norm in Brantford. Norm's stories were the best. When we were planning our trip to Newfoundland, he had many great suggestions as to where to visit.
Our sincere condolences to you. May you find peace and comfort in your memories.
Respectfully, Tom and Susan Buck

My condolences to the family of Dr. Cuthbert. He was my doctor for about 20 years when I lived in Brantford. A wonderful man. Rest in Peace, Dr. Cuthbert. You were a lifesaver.

Our family often thinks of Dr. Cuthbert as we have a memory that we often have a giggle about when we gather. I first met Dr. Cuthbert in 1972, must have been just after he came to Canada. I was in labour, my water broke and I just made it to the hospital. Dr. Doherty was my doctor but he was away at the time. I was in the delivery room and I could see Dr. Cuthbert scrubbing. The nurse was telling me to not to push. Dr. Cuthbert yelled from the scrub room, "Do not hold that baby back". He rushed in and took control. Little did I know till the pediatrician told me late that my son had inhaled fluid and if not for Dr. Cuthbert's quick action, the consequences could have been more serious than just being incubated for a couple of weeks. On to 18 months later and this little boy that I just gave birth to swallowed a penny. Well being a new mother I thought my child may die so I phoned the doctors office. Dr. Cuthbert called me right back and in a panic I explained that my baby had swallowed a penny. His remark was, "Well are you short on change." We have such a laugh at this now but at the time I was a young naive mother. He proceeded to tell me if it went down ok that is will come out ok and assured me he would be fine. So many times he was there for me with kind assurance. He is never forgotten in our household and I am sure that I am only one of the thousands of people that this gentle man helped in his lifetime.
