Obituary of Noah Isaiah Sayles

Please share a memory of Noah to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with deep sorrow that the family announces the unexpected passing of our beloved son Noah on August 10, 2023 in his 27th year. Noah was the beloved and cherished son of Kris Lovekin, and Todd (step-mom Denise Morton) Sayles. Noah’s siblings, little brother Keegan, adoring big sister Abbey and eldest brother Jessey (Tim) will miss him beyond words. Noah's love will be cherished forever by his special friend Alyssa Fuoco. Noah was so fortunate to have the love of so many family members including a particularly close relationship with grandparents Bill and Janet Lovekin, and Norma and Ed Sayles and David and Dr. Patricia Morton. Noah had a special relationship with his Uncle Dave (Teresa) and loved his time out west with him in 2022. As well, Noah will be missed by his Uncles and Aunts- Ed and Janet Lovekin, Kirk and Judy Sayles, Kelly Duck and Neil and Christi Morton. His cousins, Mary, Jack, Emily, Graham (Bri), Chad (Lissa), Leah, Scott, Avery (Logan) and Chloe (Jack) have cherished memories of time spent with him throughout the years. Noah was an intelligent, thoughtful and gentle soul and the very best listener. He was greatly loved and cared for profoundly by his amazing group of friends. The family is so grateful for his friend group and those who mentored and helped raise him in the community over the years: teachers, coaches, employers, teammates, classmates and those he supported in his practicum. You all mattered to Noah and he made sure you knew it. Noah grew up in Brantford, a gifted athlete who particularly enjoyed hockey, badminton and football in his youth and then especially ball hockey in recent years. Noah loved his hikes in nature with his beloved dog Winston who misses him so much and he loved his visits to his family cottages, hikes, philosophical talks and listening to music, gaming with his buddies and getting together with friends. Noah was completing his Bachelor of Social work at Laurier and loved his recent practicum at R-Places. Noah was a passionate advocate for men’s mental health and speaking up and reaching out. He was always honest and vocal about his own struggles with depression and anxiety and valiantly fought for life over the years and with the help of so many counsellors and Doctors of whom the family is so grateful for. Noah’s family wants to thank everyone who has reached out to us for their support, concern and care and to recognize and thank First Responders, including Brantford City Police Detectives (Scott Cole) and the Peterborough OPP (Constable Ryan Spears and Constable Andrew Gordenier) for their sensitivity and compassion in the tragic hours and days. The family is devastated by the loss of our Noah and we want to invite family and friends to share in a Celebration of his Life at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral, 88 Brant Avenue, Brantford, on Thursday, August 17 at 5 pm. Following the service in the chapel, friends are encouraged to join the family for a Memorial Reception in the Magnolia Reception Centre at the funeral home from 5:45 until 8 pm for stories and shared memories of Noah. In lieu of flowers, donations to R-PLACES Transition Centre, CMHA or the SPCA would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Noah in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
