Obituary of Muriel Garvey

GARVEY, Muriel - Peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 in her 88th year. Beloved wife of the late Bruce Garvey (2022). Loving mother to Alan and Laura and her husband Rick Yeates. Cherished mother-in-law to Leslie Garvey and her husband Urmas Madisso. Muriel will be fondly remembered and missed by her family and friends. The family would like to thank the following for their excellent care which allowed us to care for Mom at home. Dr. Lisa Frey; Dr. McNeil and Nurse Shelly from Stedman Hospice; the wonderful care from VON Nurses Karen, Julia and Lori; HCTs Lydia, Chinky, Veda, Fernanda and Kristy; and the many PSWs including Roberta and Sandee. Friends will be received at Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Avenue, Brantford, on Sunday, April 23, 2023 from 12:30-1:30 p.m. A Funeral Service will held in the chapel at 1:30 pm followed by a celebration of life for both Muriel and Bruce in the Reception Centre. Cremation and interment will take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations in Muriel's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. A tree will be planted in memory of Muriel in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
