Obituary of Mark Anthony Bevaart

Please share a memory of Mark to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Bevaart, Mark Anthony - Passed away peacefully at the Stedman Community Hospice on Monday, April 3rd, 2023 in his 60th year. Beloved husband of Mary. Loving father of Marlies (Bryan) and Annalies. Cherished brother of Michael (Debbie) and Helen. Much loved son of Anthony (Susan). Predeceased by his mother Elizabeth. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by many other relatives and friends. Mark was born and raised in Brantford, Ontario where he grew up with siblings Michael and Helen. After attending North Park Collegiate, he left Brantford to carve out a life for himself and pursue the things he loved most. He began his career as a flight attendant with Worldways airlines, and later Canada 3000, where he was able to travel the world. His love of aircrafts, flying and travel continued on after the closure of Canada 3000- he made frequent trips to Amsterdam, his favourite place to be. He was passionate about the history and architecture in Holland, and was a (very) proud and fluent second generation Dutch Canadian. Throughout his life, Mark would open a pawn shop when the mood struck him in Simcoe, Ontario, where he also spent much of his time skydiving at The Drop Zone. He eventually returned to Brantford where he had his two daughters and met his best friend and wife Mary George. He will be remembered for his quick wit and wicked sense of humour. Even in the darkest of hours he could make anyone belly laugh. Mark fought his short battle with cancer with bravery and strength, cracking jokes and making the best out of the worst situation. He loved and lived fiercely and left this world the same way, onto his next adventure. At the family's request, a private burial will take place. Arrangements are entrusted to the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Avenue, (519) 752-4331. Donations to the St. Joseph Healthcare System, Stedman Hospice or the charity of your choice would be appreciated. Condolences, tributes and donations are available at www.beckettglaves.com. A tree will be planted in memory of Mark in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
