Summerhayes, Elizabeth "Bessie" May - Passed away peacefully at Hardy Terrace Long Term Care on Monday, August 8th, 2022 in her 97th year. Predeceased by Foster, her husband of 50 years. Loving mother of the late Cliff Summerhayes, Rick (late Diana) Linington, Sylvia (late Jose) Azevedo and Betty (Scott) Summerhayes. Loving Ta Ta (grandmother) to Emily, Duncan, Max, Doug, Joe, Lina, Jeff and Charlene. Born to Graham and Mary Jane Dowling, she was one of five children. After marrying, Bessie and Foster settled on a farm in the Langford area. She will be remembered most for her caring spirit and love of family, animals and shopping. You couldn't visit Bessie without being fed a meal and having tea. Always remembered, always loved. Friends will be received at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Ave., Brantford, 519-752-4331 on Monday, August 15th, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. The funeral service will commence in the chapel on Monday at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery. Donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the charity of your choice would be appreciated. Donations and condolences are available online at www.beckettglaves.com. A tree will be planted in memory of Bessie in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
