Pires, Manuel Esteves - Passed away peacefully at the Fox Ridge Care Community on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 84 years of age. Beloved husband of Aurora. Loving father of Denise (Desroy) and the late David (1997). Deeply missed by his grandchildren Angelina and Antwyonne and step-grandchildren Shantae and Rhueshayne. Fondly remembered by his sister and brother in France and Portugal. Manuel and Aurora owned and operated Pires Grocery Store in Delhi for many years, becoming a staple in the community. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus in Delhi, he later became a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church prior to his stay at Fox Ridge where he continued his faith journey with the St. Mary's parish community. He will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. Family and friends will be received at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre,88 Brant Ave., Brantford, 519-752-4331 on Wednesday, June 29th, 2022 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's Church, 133 Murray St. Brantford on Thursday, June 30th, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Delhi Cemetery. Donations to the Diabetes Association or the Alzheimer's Society would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Manuel in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
