A donation has been made to the Canadian Cancer Society in honour of Barbara Steele
Our hearts are with you , Ivan, Laurie and Chris and extended family.
Barb and I worked together for many years at the new Medical Clinic. We enjoy much laughter and fun together.
In the past few months we reconnected every 2 weeks on Zoom to keep her in the loop with all that was going on in Mount Forest.
Rest In Peace now , Barb

I first met Barb 20+ years ago when I moved to Mount Forest. At that time she worked for my doctor. Then I worked with her at the Mount Forest Family Health Team. She welcomed and encouraged me as I made my way in a new job. Then she and Ivan moved into the condo building where I lived! This where out friendship grew and the fun began.
I have so many memories of Barb there such as decorating the lobby and Common Room for different occasions, her Retirement Party, doing puzzles together, organizing pot luck meals, lending a hand and helping each other out of predicaments. Sometimes we got into predicaments together too!
I always appreciated Barb's ready laugh, even though she was often in pain, and her willingness to join in any adventure I might think up for us.
Even though Barb had another commitment and couldn't attend my surprise 70th birthday party herself she knocked on 27 doors to spread the word and I think maybe threatened people a little as it was a complete surprise!
Even when she moved to Brantford we kept in touch. She always wanted to know how people were and what was happening in Mount Forest.
I am so honoured and thankful that I was able to visit her just 3 short weeks ago. Her ready laugh will always ring on my ears when I think of her.
Rest in piece my friend.

I had the privilege of meeting Barb, along with my daughters, at Girl Guides in Mount Forest. She was the best Guide leader, full of fun, warmth and kindness. We have so many memories of Barb and how she impacted our lives.
We are heartbroken over the loss of this wonderful lady!
Praying for you all in this difficult time.
