Obituary of Stephen Riley

Riley, Stephen - Passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 8th, 2022 in his 71st year. Dearly loved husband of Lynne for almost 50 years, loving and devoted Dad of son Brad, wife Kristin and daughter Erin. Cherished ‘Gramps’ of Maddy, Bri, Bekah, Nolan and grand puppy Pip. Step son of Claire and brother of Paula, Patrick, Chantal and Martine. Predeceased by father Harry, and brother John. He will also be remembered by many extended family members. Steve was a loyal employee of Superior Propane and Summers and Smith, where he worked for many years. He also loved his summer job as a baseball umpire. He became a cherished friend of many over the years, through various volunteer and work engagements, and his ability to befriend strangers. Steve loved his family, The Maple Leafs, playing horseshoes, beating his kids in the game of cribbage and golf. He will be remembered by many for his sense of humour, caring nature, dedication to his loved ones and immense stubbornness! Forever in our hearts, loved and remembered always. Friends will be received at the BECKETT-GLAVES FAMILY FUNERAL CENTRE, 88 Brant Avenue on Thursday from 7-9 pm and Friday from 10-11 am. A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Friday at 11 am with Pastor David Ralph officiating. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Diabetes Association or the Parkinson's Foundation would be appreciated.
