Obituary of Catherine Meynell

Catherine Jean Meynell, 61, of Brantford, Ontario, passed away on Sunday, November 21st, 2021. She died peacefully in her sleep, after battling cancer for 5 months. Catherine was predeceased by her parents William & Jean, her brother Terry and her 2 husbands, Thomas and William. She is survived by her brother David, her stepdaughter and best friend Dawn Girard, her granddaughters Breanna and Brooklynn and 4 great-grandchildren. She is also leaving behind her beloved cat, Binx, who was at her side until the end. Catherine was kind, funny and compassionate. She enjoyed volunteering her time to help others and participated in several fundraisers. She was very creative and enjoyed painting, drawing, knitting and cooking. She also loved the outdoors and a starry night and was ready to go camping anytime, in any weather. Cathy was most passionate about her wiccan faith and the paranormal phenomenon. She knew everything about ghost hunting and was passionate about her alter, her herbs and conjuring simple spells. Cathy also enjoyed reminiscing about the glory days when rock was the greatest! She loved her 70's-80's rock bands, namely Rush, Judas Priest and Motley Crue. After all these she knew all the words for all the songs. She will be missed dearly by her friends, brother and family." Family and friends will be received at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Ave., Brantford on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 from 11:00 am until the service time at 1:00 p.m. The Funeral service will commence at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or your local SPCA would be greatly appreciated.
