Obituary of D. Marie Batchelor

Please share a memory of D. Marie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Dorothy "Marie" Batchelor (nee: Hutchinson) - November 21st, 1934 - April 22nd, 2020 - Marie is predeceased by her husband Ken (1993), partner Ray (2012) and sons Mark (1974), Guy (1984) and Randy (1999). She is survived by her daughters Lynn and Andrea, sons Dale, Rick and Ron as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marie met Ken in 1952 while working at Harding Carpets, they married in 1953 and were together for 40 years. She retired from Crane Canada in 1994 after 25 years service. Marie lived in several small towns around Brantford and on Vancouver Island but always considered Brantford home. She loved camping with the kids and socializing at the service clubs. Marie enjoyed winter trips to Florida and driving trips east of Ontario. She had many friendships that went back 60 or more years, most now gone, leading to her spending more time at home. These last years were hard on her but Marie never lost her spirit and love for those around her. She will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her. A service to honour Marie's life will be held at the BECKETT-GLAVES FAMILY FUNERAL CENTRE, 88 Brant Avenue on Tuesday, August 25th at 11:00 am. Cremation has taken place. Donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Marie in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
