Condolences
Dear Carol,
We are very sorry to hear of Jerry’s passing. He was such a fun character. Such wonderful memories with you and your family. Our condolences to you and your family. Leslie Yates and family, Sharon Ferguson and family.
I was very sad to hear of Jerry's passing. My deepest condolences to you all.
I remember how we would end up at Carol & Jerry's after a Kmart dance or a night out. Jeff would invite us back to continue the party. Even if Jerry was in bed, he would get up & join the party, never angry that we stumbled in so late(or early..lol). We were always welcome. Cheers Jerry!!!
M'Lady Carolyn; Our deepest condolences to you and yours. Bill and I hope you find comfort and strength in the love of Family & Friends, during this heartbreaking time, and beyond. "Don't cry because it's over; smile because it happened."
Sincerest Sympathy, Kathy & Bill Thornton
To Carol and family... I am so sorry to hear of Jerry’s passing. Ever since we were kids Jerry always greeted me with that big smile and warm greeting of “Hi Cuz”. He had such a beautiful spirit and was loved by anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. I will miss running in to him while shopping or other events. I know he’ll be missed by all. ❤️ Dorleen aka Cuz
So sorry to hear of Jerry's passing. My memory of Jerry is from when I worked at Eaton Market Square Guest Services, he was quite a joker and he was Santa at the mall for a couple of years. One of the best Santas I have ever known. He was always so kind to all the children who went to visit him. Such a small world I found a few years after I had met him that he also worked with my dad years prior ( Brantford Cordage I believe)
Rest in Peace Santa (Jerry)
Our most sincere sympathies to you Carol and your whole family. Jerry and I worked together for 14 years. We always enjoyed his company. For many years Jerry was an annual visitor to our family Christmas party. On his first visit our son, who was about 5 at the time, looked at us and said, "That's the real Santa Claus." We had to agree, nobody did Santa Claus better.
Jerry was a good hearted soul. Many of his favorite humorous lines he repeated often. I still recall them on occasion and chuckle when I think of them.
It was a pleasure knowing him. He will be missed.
Warmest Regards,
Bill & PJ O'Leary
My sincerest condolences to his family and friends. I have many fond memories of Uncle Jerry growing up. One of my fondest memories was when he surprised me at my wedding which was a Christmas theme Wedding in December he slipped away briefly from my reception and Santa appeared. Santa and I shared a wonderful dance and it was amazing and so thoughtful. I will miss your dearly but will always carry wonderful memories and feeling of a funny, talented, caring, wonderful soul.
We only got the chance to meet Jerry just the once, and for such a short time. But ‘oh my’ how much of an impact he had on us! Such a sweet and gentle soul, and truly a gentleman and a figurehead of the Draper family. We are so saddened by his loss. We are parted by the seas, but our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. Always our friends, always in our hearts x
Sincere condolences to the Draper family. Losing Jerry must create a huge empty place in so many hearts. I remember Jerry accompanying my stepsister Nora at a Labour Day event back in the early 1960s. I was concerned for them performing in front of so many people but they were great and received much applause. Carol and my sister Hazel were very close for many years until Hazel was taken by cancer. Many fond memories from the past that time cannot erase. Rest in peace Jerry.
So very sorry for your loss. Thinking of your family at this difficult time. Shelley and family.
Hi Jeff sorry to hear about your dad, sending condolences to you and your family form Terry and Nicole Martin.
I always loved the visits we had from cousin Jerry and Carol when I was kid. I also loved my summertime vacation at their place when I was around 11 years old. I remember riding in the cab of a big truck with him, Carol, Jerry Jr and baby Jeff while pulling a float in a parade in Brantford one summer. Jerry and Carol took me to my very first drive in too. I liked when Jerry would play his guitar and we would sing along with him. He even tried to play a Beatles tune for me because they were the best band at the time. He was always joking and kidding and just really fun to be around. Rest peacefully Jerry. Thank you for the good times. Love and peace to Carol and family.

Wow So many memories come flooding back to me, I remember Uncle Jerry always making time to come and see the kids at Christmas time, as Santa, Even when I was a young child. He always called me Sid the Squid, Never understood, But that was Uncle Jerry, always a Card...lol Then it just became Sid as I got older. He always had a funny sence of humour, wanting people to pull him finger...LOL Oh and the first time I heard someone call him Richard, I said who the heck is that, Not really knowing that was his First name, But He will always be my Uncle Jerry, I will sadly miss you and many others too, Always in my heart, Keep an eye over all your family, from above. Love Cindy
Thanks for sharing your heartfelt messages and memories. They mean a lot.
My Dad's passing has been really hard especially because we can't get together with everyone due to the pandemic. It still feels unreal, and will be hard to find closure.
I miss my Dad and know that he was loved by all that knew him. He had an effect on people even if they only met him briefly. He was the most genuine person you could meet and was always ready to listen or say something to make you laugh. He was kind-hearted and generous and loved to have fun and spend time with his family and friends. We shared many great times camping, playing risk, and singing karaoke. That's him singing Conway Twitty's Never Been This Far Before over the picture slide show in the memorial video on this page.
Our family is very close, and I'm thankful that my Mom, brothers and I were all together with my Dad during his last moments.
My Dad loved playing Santa, dressing-up in outrageous costumes for Halloween, to play pranks, or at murder mystery parties, and tipping a glass with friends.
My Dad was my friend, confidant, and role model and I'm going to miss him.
I love you Best Pal.

Jerry was our real estate agent 40 yrs ago....his car had a broken front passenger door......joked that he would not let you out until you bought a house.......also first new Jerry when he was a young man and worked with my father Donald Harris at Consolidated Truck lines.......also Jerry knew my husband as well as his twin brother Bob Forbes....people were always stopping Jerry and asking him how his twin brother was...he thought that was hilarious and would always ask me how his brothers were......he was a fun loving guy..........Anna and Ted Forbes and family.
Jerry was an amazing man and wonderful neighbour, gonna miss the calling of my name when I was in my back yard from over the fence, and the drinks we had together. Condolences to Carol and the rest of the family.
