Obituary of Ina Schmitt

SCHMITT, Ina Stephanie Freda (nee Sims)

March 11th 1927 - October 18th 2019

After a brief hospital stay Ina passed peacefully into the Lord’s hands. Beloved wife of Ed (Nov 1991). Predeceased by her parents Stephen and Edith Sims, sister Constance Hill and brother Donald Sims. Much loved Mother of Stephen (Holly) Mary (2002) Cheryl (David). Cherished Grandmother of Nathan (Erin) Stacey (Natty) Andrew, Melissa (Steve). Great grandmother of Ben, Cameron, Eva and Daniel. Ina was a devoted Christian and spent many years carrying out the Lord’s work at St. George Baptist Church. She was an accomplished artist, talented knitter and was known for her delicious apple pies. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, October 22nd from 7-9 p.m. and again on Wednesday, October 23rd from 12-1 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at the BECKETT-GLAVES FAMILY FUNERAL CENTRE, 88 Brant Avenue Brantford, 519-752-4331. A private family interment will take place at the St. George Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy memorial donations can be made to the ALS Society of Canada or the Canadian Cancer Society. Sincere thanks to the Nurses, PSW’S, and Doctors of the 4th 5th and 6th floors of BGH for the wonderful compassionate care provided to Ina.
