Peacefully at home, on Wednesday, August 14th, 2019, in her 45th year. Loving partner of Carlos Castro. Dear daughter of Jean, the late Richard Melnyk and loving sister of Kyle (Veronica Martinez) Melnyk. Erika graduated from McMaster University and the University of Western Ontario. She was supportive of the people she worked with and had a dedicated commitment to social work, Erika embraced the enjoyment of nature and animals, she loved to travel and shared in and felt a deep connection to the natural world around her. Through the years. Erika enjoyed meeting many people of different cultures and beliefs. At Erika's request cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the BECKETT - GLAVES FAMILY FUNERAL CENTRE, 88 Brant Avenue, on Sunday, August 25th, from 1-3 p.m. A Celebration of her life will follow in the Chapel at 3:00 p.m. Donations to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
