Please share a memory of Colleen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Smith, Colleen (nee Collins) It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our mentor and friend Colleen Collins Smith on May 14th. Beloved wife of the late Norman Smith. Loving daughter of the late William and Lily Collins. Cherished mother of Catherine (Ray) Grieve and Patrick (Carlene) Smith. Best Ma to David (Sheryl) Grieve, Julie (Nathan) Hundert, Michael (Dannielle) Smith and Billy Smith. Mom really enjoyed her great grandchildren, they were her pride and joy. Also blessed with her brother Bill (Marg) Collins. She will also be missed by her sister-in-law Muriel (Gord) Smith. Mom spent many special moments with her nieces and nephews. Colleen was a member of Alexandra Presbyterian Church as well as a past member of Echo Place Church where she was a member of the choir. Music was a big part of her life. She played the guitar, keyboard, violin, and the mandolin. Mom became a clown for Christ in 1990 but was also known as Buttons. She was involved in many different singing groups and was very involved in her community. She enjoyed doing volunteer work. The family would like to thank the staff on Pinetrail at St. Joseph's Lifecare Centre. Special thanks to Dr. Hsiao and Dr. Allen for all their care. Friends will be received at the BECKETT-GLAVES FAMILY FUNERAL CENTRE, 88 Brant Avenue, Brantford on Saturday, May, 18th from 10-11 a.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Saturday, May 18th at 11 a.m. Donations to MacKids through McMaster Children's Hospital or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Colleen in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
