Passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the St. Peter's Hospital in Hamilton on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 in her 48th year. Beloved wife of Paulo Arruda for 25 years. Loving mother of Cidalia, Enrique and Emilio. Much loved daughter of Baldev and the late Chander Kapur (2014). Dear sister of Sanjiv and his wife Jeannie and the late Archana Sehgal (1992). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Jyoti lived her life for the benefit of others receiving her Masters in Social Work. Jyoti's professional career started at the Brantford General Hospital as a Social Worker prior to becoming the director of Addictions and Mental Health at St. Leonards (Brantford). Jyoti continued her social work in the Forensic Psychiatry Program at St. Joseph's Hospital, Hamilton. Jyoti worked tirelessly to help those in need, putting everyone else first, even through her illness. Friends will be received at the BECKETT-GLAVES FAMILY FUNERAL CENTRE, 88 Brant Avenue on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Friday at 1 p.m. Cremation will follow.
