Beloved wife of Garry. Loving mother of 5 children Jennifer (Shane) McGregor, Angela Leyland (Travis), Alison North, Melanie (Alexander Michaudon) North, and Stephen North. Barb is predeceased by her parents Lila and Laurence "Hap" McWaters. Barb was born in Parry Sound, Ontario and moved with her parents to Barrie and on to Brantford with the O.P.P. in the late 1950's. She attended Echo Place Public School, Brantford and Pauline Johnson Collegiate, and graduated from Hamilton Teachers College. Barb commenced her teaching career at Lansdowne Elementary School in Brantford, and retired from Branlyn School after teaching grade 8 for many years and thought that the sun rose and set on each and every student that she ever taught. Barb and her good friend Sandy Powell started an event planning business "Staging Celebrations" together. They did over 140 events and weddings. Throughout her teaching career, and her events and wedding planning career she always had time to give to her family, relatives and friends, no matter how busy she was. Barb always loved to entertain and travel. Barb was talented, energetic, active and entrepreneurial. Barb loved to listen and encouraged so many to reach their goals in life and had the ability to make everyone she knew feel important, confident, and gave them the self-esteem to face all of their personal challenges.
