Obituary of Chester "Chet" Bewick
The family of Chet Bewick sadly announces his passing at the Brantford General Hospital, surrounded by his family on Wednesday, May, 3rd, 2017, in his 96th year. Predeceased by his loving wife of 64 years Yvonne. Loving father of Greg (Joyce Matthison), Paul, Jane and Joan Maiorano (Dave Todd). Cherished Grandpa of Tomy, Jessica, Jeb, Jade, Daniella, Jessica, and Alex, and his great-granddaughter Lilly. Survived by his sister Hilda Fulcher and predeceased by his sister Audrey Wragge. Chet will also be fondly remembered by his many other family members and friends. He worked at Grafton's where he progressed from Shipping and Receiving to Regional Manager over his 40 year career with the company. Chet won the Lifetime Achievement Award for Outstanding Volunteerism in 2016, some of the causes he was involved with were Big Brothers, Meals On Wheels, his church communities, and the Brantford General Hospital where he was a dedicated volunteer for 20+ years. He also actively visited many friends and senior home residents. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Ave. on Tuesday, May 9th, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10 - 11 a.m. A Memorial Service will follow in the chapel on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Brant Community Healthcare system Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
