Condolences
On Feb.8th 2017 a very dear and loyal friend passed peacefully away. The following words have brought me much comfort. Into the Holy of holies , into the presence of the king, I had no reservation but he said come on in, I went pass the brazen altar until I saw His face and when His presence met me I knew I'd found that holy place.
My brother Albert Douglas Simms passed peacefully away at Brantford General Hospital February 8, 2017 after a long and difficult lung illness.
He was born September 29, 1948 at Grace Salvation Army Hospital, St. John's, Newfoundland; 4th child of Charles Henry and Cordelia(nee Gillard) Simms.
Predeceased by his older sister Shirley Drummond in 1962 and by his parents. Survived by one sister Joan Miller(Fred) of Dallas, Texas and one brother Kevin Simms(Roberta-Ann) of St. Anthony, Newfoundland. Also survived by his loyal friend Bill Watkins of Brantford, Ontario and by nieces Dawn and Dara and nephews Lance, Andrew and David and by many cousins, grandnieces and grandnephews and many good friends.
Albert was a free spirit; a non-conformist who did not break faith with those who died in battle for our freedom; he dared to explore the paths he was drawn to. Good bye for now mon frère and on your behalf many thanks to all who befriended you in life; all the wonderful health care people who did everything possible to improve your comfort and most of all to Majors Tony and Patricia Kennedy who led you to The Lord and who were at your side as you said farewell to this stage of life.
