Condolences
Jim, you're going to be missed! Johnny, my brother, always thought so highly of you! He always said you were the best motorcycle driver he'd ever witnessed and figured it had to do with the fact you were an accomplished trucker!
Johnny rarely invites his buddies to my place, but Jim was a regular! I'd hear Johnny's jeep on the road, look out the window and see that Jim would be following behind him. Always at dinner time! We'd throw a few more potatoes in the pot and Johnny, Jim, Tom (my spouse) and I, and our kids and their friends, would sit around our kitchen table and share stories, laugh and eat! Then, the 'boys' would go downstairs to Tom's happy place (in the basement) and they'd watch music video's and share more stories! Jim was one of the nicest fellows I'd ever met and I know that Johnny considered him one of his very few best friends!
I'm sorry neither of us can make it to the memorial but Jim's memories will live on in our story telling.
My sympathy to Ken Eve family and friends. Having shared lots of ice time with Jim over numerous years I am sad over the passing of my friend and shall keep good memories. Dave Johnson.
Was shocked to get the call from Ken & Eve that Jim had passed on. We met back in 1980 at Wasaga Beach and stayed friends for all these years. Jim introduced me to his motorcycle circle of friends with BRO and we also shared the love of scuba diving. In 1988 we travelled to Cozumel, Mexico with a group of about 40 other divers. I have attached several pictures of our times together. My condolences to the family.
Our sincerest condolences to Ken and Eve from cousin Bob and wife Ann from rural Perth, ON.
Due to life experiences in the R.C.M.P. and living across the country, we seldom, 'recently' met with the Roger cousins, with the exception of recent sad family events. Sad events bring forth the remembering of GOOD times.
My memories of Jim are from our very early years. Aunt Ann and Uncle Clive, with the kids, would regularly visit our family in Niagara Falls. Great memories. We would also visit Burlington, ON.
A memory that quickly comes to mind is that Jim once found a big fat fuzzy caterpillar in Grandma and Grandpa Rogers garden (just down the street from my childhood home) and he had to safeguard it until cousins Liz, Bob, and Lynne got to see it. Grandpa Rogers wanted it dead, as it was eating his vegetables...Jim would have no part of that ...
Farewell Jim...until we meet again...
Cousin Bob and Ann
You will be deeply missed but your memories will always be in my heart and mind. You were always there when you were needed and always with a smile. Enjoy your sunset rides on the road of eternity with the rumble in your ears from your harley. This is where and how your soul will be as this is your heaven. I want to thank you for all that you have been and given to me and my family for over twenty years. Love always to you. Eric
Really going to miss you JIm.
We had fun riding our bikes and golfing in the 1970's and were fortunate to be able to do it again in our 60's.
Rick
Jim has been my brother(in Law) for over forty three years. I loved his straight forward speaking of his mind, his generosity with his time and his love of friends and family. I can appreciate how difficult it will be for Ken and Eve having just lost Mom and now Ken's big brother Jim. We his family will miss him greatly.
