Obituary of June 'Margaret' Bragg

Bragg, Margaret June Passed peacefully at the Brantford General Hospital August 25th, 2016 at age 93. June is the loving mother of Allan, Norman, and Barbara Jenkins (Brian), and dear, sweet ‘Nan’ to Katie and Ruby Jenkins. She is now with her beloved husband Harris Bragg, her brother Allan Turner (who died in 1941 during WWII ), and her kind, wonderful parents Lorne and Maude Turner. June had a happy childhood in Westboro, Ontario (Ottawa), where she enjoyed figure skating at the Minto Club, taking the streetcar into Ottawa for piano lessons every week, and riding her bicycle with her best friends Beth Nelson, Ruth Macdonald, and Louise Scott. She went on to graduate from McMaster University, class of 1946. June met her husband Harris there, then raised their family and lived happily the rest of their lives in Brantford. A 60-year member of the University of Women’s Club and a 50-year member of IODE, June also belonged to the “Morning Glories” figure skating group and skated until well into her seventies. She played bridge, loved going to the theatre, enjoyed reading, playing the piano, and cooking. She made marvelous pecan and lemon meringue pies. June will be greatly missed by her family. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at Beckett-Glaves Funeral Home, 88 Brant Ave., on Saturday, September 10, 2016, between 12:00 and 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s society or charity of your choice would be appreciated. A tree will planted in memory of June in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
