Wood, Gerald W. - Passed away peacefully at Park Lane Terrace Nursing Home on Monday, July 4, 2016 in his 85th year. Beloved husband of the late Gwendolyn (1994). Loving friend and companion of Marie Cruickshank for 20 years (they enjoyed many trips together). Caring father of Randy, Rick and his wife Wendy, Donna Wood and her husband Brian Holloway; and Doug. Dear grandfather of Jennifer, Bill, Ely, Eric, Jordan, Leah. Also survived by his brother Burke and his wife Agnes; and Rosemary Stinson. Predeceased by his son Jeffery Wood (1983) and his siblings George, Murray and Margaret. Gerry loved playing cards. He was an employee of Ford Motor Company in Oakville for 47 years. Friends will be received at the BECKETT-GLAVES FAMILY FUNERAL CENTRE, 88 Brant Avenue on Thursday from 1:30-2:30 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Thursday at 2:30 with Reverend Stephen Iverson officiating. Interment St. George Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society or the Parkinson Foundation would be appreciated.
