Obituary of George Garner

Garner, George Arnold - Passed away peacefully at the Hamilton General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, May 12, 2016 in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of the late Marlene (2015). Loving father of Phil (Pamela), Sandra (Randy) Blake, Paul (the late Mark). Devoted grandfather of Kyle, Casey, Stefanie, Jennifer Garner, Mark (Danielle), Lisa (Brett). Great grandfather of Jason. Also survived by his brother Cliff (June). He will also be remembered by many other family members and friends. Predeceased by his parents George and Wilhelmina Garner and his sister Beverley Macumber. At George's request, cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the BECKETT-GLAVES FAMILY FUNERAL CENTRE, 88 Brant Avenue on Wednesday from 11 am - 1 pm. Interment of Georges ashes will take place privately. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of your choice would be appreciated. Special thank you to George's daughter-in-law Pamela for all of her care and compassion throughout the last year. Also a thank you to Bob Churchward for being a dear friend to George and also for all his help and to Joanne Mesz for being a good neighbour and friend. A tree will be planted in memory of George in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
