Obituary of Don Johnston

Johnston, L Donald "Don" - Passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday, May 12th, 2016 in his 73rd year. Beloved husband of Pat (nee McPhail) for over 49 years. Loving father of Shelley (Ron) Lee, Dan (Sheryl), Marie Pare, and Nancy (Jason) Reynaert. Cherished "Grampa" to Zach, Curtis, Chelsea, Gavin, Jacob, Matthew, Mitchell, Hayden, Ayden and Aaryn. Don is survived by his sister Maxine Richard, his brother Ron (Wanda), brother-in-law Jack (Chris) McPhail, and his sister-in-law Liz Cowan. Predeceased by his parents, and 3 brothers. Don will also be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, friends and 3 fur babies Mr. Bones, Booga, and Little Buddy. He was a retired long time employee of Canadian General Tower in Cambridge, and Firestone in Hamilton. Friends will be received at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Ave. Brantford on Sunday, May 15th, 2016 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m., and on Monday from 10 - 11 a.m. A Funeral Service will follow in the chapel on Monday, May 16th, 2016 at 11 a.m. Rev. Paul Tinker officiating. Cremation. Donations to the Brant S.P.C.A. would be appreciated.
