HOFFMAN, Katharine Margaret (nee Swayze) - It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of our beloved wife and mother Katharine Hoffman who passed away peacefully on Monday, January 18th at the Brantford General Hospital. Beloved wife of 42 years of Russell and devoted and most cherished mum of Katie Walshaw (Greg). Loving sister of Tim and sister-in-law of Susan (Bob). Pre-deceased by her parents Chuck (2004) and Katharine (2015), she will be dearly missed by her many cousins, particularly Marni (Stockton, CA) and Joanne (London). Kate will be lovingly remembered and sorely missed by her many friends, including the “Sassy Six” and “The Opera Chicks.” A Private Family Service and Burial has taken place. Friends are invited to join Russ and Katie on a date to be announced in the spring to celebrate Kate’s life in her beloved garden. The family wishes to extend a most heartfelt thank you to the staff at the BGH on B6 and the Palliative Care unit for their wonderful and compassionate care. Donations to the Brantford Public Library (Children’s Literature) or the Palliative Care Ward at the Brantford General Hospital would be greatly appreciated. “For auld lang syne, my dear. For auld lang syne. We’ll tak a cup ‘o kindness yet for auld lang syne!” A tree will be planted in memory of Katharine in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
