Please share a memory of Anne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Duncan, Anne (Nee Camps)
In her 83rd year, passed away peacefully on her own terms and timing on December 24, 2015 at the Brantford General Hospital surrounded by her family. Anne joins her beloved husband, the late J. Donald Duncan, who passed away on December 24, 2004. She will be missed greatly by her daughters Wendy Christy (Bob), Nancy Case (Scott) and Donna Duncan (John Toogood). Her loving grandchildren Ben, Carly, and Brendon, and her chosen family members Ray and Pam Bamsey. Anne will be dearly missed by her extended family and an enormous circle of friends of all ages whose lives she touched. Anne was pre-deceased by her sister Elizabeth Camps, her mother, Dulcie Camps, her brother Peter Camps, and her dear chosen family member, E. Clark Gothard. Born on June 28, 1932 in Auldbourne, UK, Anne, together with her siblings, was a war-time “Guest Child” in Brantford from 1940-1945. She returned to Brantford in 1948 with her mother, brother and sister and remained a life-long resident. Anne was a devoted member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and a long-time, active member of St. John’s Anglican Church. She also enjoyed her euchre club and participation in The Probus Club of Brantford. Anne was committed to volunteerism and helping others. Throughout her lifetime she dedicated endless hours and energy to Riverview Public School, Brantwood Children’s Centre, The Victorian Order of Nurses, and the Women’s Committee of the Brantford Symphony Orchestra. Cremation has taken place and will be followed by private interment at a later date. Anne asked that, in lieu of a service, her friends celebrate her life in their own ways through their memories and acts of kindness. Special thanks to Dr. Yousery Koubaesh and the extraordinary care team in the Critical Care Unit at the Brantford General Hospital, as well as to Dr. Jeffrey Manning, for their support and kindness. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Brantford General Hospital Foundation, St. Joseph’s Lifecare Foundation, or a charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to the BECKETTT-GLAVES FAMILY FUNERAL CENTRE.
“I shall pass through this world but once. Any good thing therefore that I can do or any kindness that I can show any human being, let me do it now. But let me not defer nor neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again. Many people walk in and out of our lives, but true friends leave footprints in our hearts.” - attributed to Stephen Grellet
