Obituary of Edeltraut Korfmann

Korfmann, Edeltraut It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of our loving Mutti and Oma on June 2. She was in her 91st year. Traute (Edeltraut) born September 20, 1924, was predeceased by her husband Arnold (Pop) in 2009. Loving mother of Bernie and Keri Korfmann, Wilfred and Karen Korfmann, and Margret and Martin Elsasser. Loved Oma to Andreas, Lukas (Jerrica), Christopher, Joshua, Katie and Emily. Loving sister-in-law to Erna Korfmann, and Tante to many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a sister Hertchen and brother Ernst of Germany. Traute and her husband of 60 years immigrated to Canada from Germany in 1953 and eventually settled in Brantford. They were both dedicated members of the German Canadian Association. Our loving mother will always be remembered for her dedication to her family and for her hospitality, offering her home cooking and baking to all. Special thanks to Dr. John Hadley and the amazing, caring staff at St. Joseph's LifeCare Centre. Friends will be received at the BECKETT-GLAVES FAMILY FUNERAL CENTRE, 88 Brant Avenue on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, 57 Brant Avenue on Saturday at 10 a.m. with Reverend Stephen Scheidt officiating. Interment Mount Hope Cemetery. Donations to St. Joseph's Lifecare Centre or Faith Lutheran Church would be appreciated.
